HICKORY SHORES RESORT CABIN RENTAL AGREEMENT

 

 

1. RENTAL FEES: Checkout cleaning is included in the Rental Fee. Illinois Hotel Tax at a rate of 8.64% is added to all Rental Fees.
Cabins require payment to be made in full before the tenant can enter the cabin.

2. DAMAGE and EXTRA FEES: We trust that our guests are responsible and we do not demand a security deposit, unless it is a cash paying guest. For verification of your identity, we will ask you during the registration process to let us copy your drivers license. Guests are financially responsible for all damages, missing items, and for additional cleaning fees if necessary. Should housekeeping find the cabin in an unacceptable condition, photos will be taken and we will charge your credit card or bill you for damage repairs, replacement of missing contents, expenses resulting from agreement violations, such as a check fee, trash left in unit, dirty dishes left unwashed, furniture moving, or any unacceptable condition of unit on departure.

3. RETURNED CHECK FEE: There is a $30.00 per check fee for all returned checks.

4. CANCELLATION POLICY AND REFUNDS: We know that plans can go astray. However we rely primarily on advance reservations, and cancellations cannot readily be filled. So to be fair to all concerned, our policy is as follow: Your credit card will be charged a $100 deposit when the reservation is made. If the reservation is cancelled with a 30 day notice, the deposit will be refunded. If you cancel your reservation without a 30 day notice, the deposit will NOT be refunded. If we do not receive a cancellation notice at all, and the guest does not arrive for the reservation, the balance due on the account will be charged to the credit card on file.

5. CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES: Check in time begins at 4:00 p.m. CST. Early arrivals will be charged $10 for each hour they are early before 4:00 p.m. While we make every effort to have your cabin ready, there may be a delay during peak season and your patience is appreciated. Check out time is by Noon CST. An additional night stay will be charged for late check outs.

6. UPON DEPARTURE: Please ensure that: The Heat or A/C is turned off, all windows are in their locked position and doors are securely pulled tight and locked. Additionally, turn off all lights to conserve energy.

7. TENANT RESPONSIBILITIES: Each cabin comes fully furnished, including dishes, silverware, cookware and linens (towels, bath mats, sheets, dish towels). The cabins also come equipped with toilet paper, a trash bag, hand soap, and dish soap. You are required to wash and put away all dishes, remove any/all items from refrigerator, and remove your trash. Please treat each unit as if it were your own. DO NOT rearrange the bedding or furniture, if the furniture is moved and our staff has to put it back in its original place you will be charged a fee of $25.00. DO NOT remove any of the kitchenware or utensils from the cabin. If you have a group of cabins and you remove dishes or utensils from one cabin to use at another cabin be sure to take them back to the original cabin, as we take inventory before and after your stay and any items that are missing will be billed to the credit card on file at the . And yes, we consider the items from one cabin being at another cabin missing. The Resort and housekeeping are not responsible for any items left in a cabin by a guest. If housekeeping is requested by a guest to pick up and return any item left in a cabin, items will be returned by UPS or US Postal Service for a service charge of $30.00 plus shipping fees.

8. Minimum age required to rent a cabin is 21 years: and the person who books the cabin rental must stay at the cabin for the entire rental period. Sub-leasing or parents renting for their children under the age of 21 is NOT allowed.

9. Smoking inside the cabin is NOT permitted. If you smoke outside, please extinguish all cigarettes and dispose of them properly to prevent a fire hazard and keep the grounds clean.

10. TRASH: Trash must be deposited in the outdoor trash container. Please do not leave trash bags on decks as it attracts animals.

11. Amenities are NOT guaranteed. There are NO REFUNDS for the malfunction of any equipment including but not limited to air conditioning, TV, appliances, power outages and telephone service. Every effort has been made to ensure all equipment is in working order. Please report any inoperative equipment to housekeeping. The resort staff and /or subcontractors may enter premises during reasonable hours to perform maintenance. We also feel that our web-site provides you with ample information regarding the features, and condition of the cabin, therefore, we will not refund any portion of your Rental Fee upon arrival, but we will try to accommodate a reasonable request.

12. No refunds due to early departure. This includes departures due to inclement weather. All guests are financially responsible for the entire booking once your reservation has been made.

13. NO refunds due to weather, road conditions, change of plans, or early departures. During your visits, stay tuned to TV/Radio/Weather stations for storm warnings or watches. Depending on the severity of the storms and your location, it is your responsibility to take necessary precautions. We are not responsible for damages incurred due to weather or cost to evacuate your family or vehicles.

14. NO PETS: Sorry… we love pets too, but many guests are allergic to them. Therefore... We do not allow pets in our cabins. If a pet is seen entering one of our cabins, or there is evidence that an animal has been in the cabin, the credit card on file for that reservation will be charged a fee of $100.00 for each night of your stay.

15. TOWELS: Each cabin comes with the amount of towels, hand towels, and washrags to match the number of guests that the cabin accommodates (example: If the cabin sleeps 4 people it will have 4 towels, 4 hand towels, and 4 wash rags). If you need more towels, you will need to bring them from home, or if you wish to wash your towels while you are here we have laundry facilities at the resort that are open Friday through Sunday. The towels are not to be taken out of the cabins, so if you need towels for the swimming pool you will need to bring your own. Inventories of the linens are taken before and after each stay. If there are linens missing, or if they are stained or damaged beyond repair the credit card on file will be charged at the rate of $10.00 per item.
